I like to make meaning; whether it is with words spoken
or written, through material or action.
I'm not sure I have a choice but to make meaning.

For me, the thrill of life and practice is in revelation, the unfolding of mystery, not in knowing. My antipathy toward self-explanation might also seem to contradict my concern with autobiographical exploration. As an artist and social thinker, I am deeply concerned with personal representation and the way each of us has the potential to be the architect of our being. - Peter Hocking

Emerson, Thoreau, Fuller and Whitman have been touchstones for my search. Like me, they were concerned with authenticity and living according to their inner calling. Like me, too, they struggled with living between the dominant culture and their own kind of bohemia.- Peter Hocking
